April Raver has spent many years serving in children’s ministry, walking alongside kids, families, and volunteers in the everyday moments where faith quietly grows. She has experienced both the joy and the heartbreak that can come with loving ministry deeply. After navigating an unexpected season of loss connected to her own ministry journey, April began writing about the parts of that experience that are often left unspoken—the grief, the questions, and the slow work of healing that can follow when a ministry role ends before the heart is ready.
Today, April continues to serve and support children’s ministry leaders through writing, training, and resource development with KidzMatter. She is passionate about helping leaders care for children well while also caring for their own hearts. When she is not working with ministry leaders, April enjoys nature photography and spending time outdoors watching the birds that frequently appear in her photographs—
a quiet reminder that God continues to care for the small and unseen things.
