Dear God,

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your amazing love and care for us.

Today, we want to pause and say thank You for our mothers and the other women in our lives and what they mean to us. Our hearts are incredibly thankful!

Lord, we praise You when we think about the sacrifice and love given to us by our mothers. Thank You for the mother who gave birth to us, the one who adopted us, and the one(s) who may not have given birth but have loved and mentored us along the path of life.

God, thank You so much for the mothers and women in our lives who have held our hands, stood by our sides, cheered us on, given us their shoulders to cry on, and loved us unconditionally. Thank You for the qualities of motherhood—their patience, kindness, concern, and understanding. Thank You for the part they play in our lives. For the moms and women who have led us to You, Lord Jesus, and have faithfully prayed for us, we say thank You.

God, we pray for those for whom Mother’s Day brings heartache rather than celebration. We pray for those who have never known their mothers or whose mothers have passed away. Thank You, God, for Your amazing love that invites us to draw near to You in times when we feel abandoned or lost.

O Lord, we lift up and pray for the young teenage mom who was not yet planning to become a mother but had the courage to make the difficult choice to place her child for adoption in hopes of a better life.

We thank You, Lord, for the mother who surrendered and entrusted her child to another parent through adoption—grant her peace. We pray for the moms whose child did not live to take a breath or who left this earth too soon. Comfort them with the peace that only comes from knowing Jesus.

We intercede for all the women struggling with guilt, shame, and feelings of not being enough. We pray for Your healing upon their lives. We speak the name of Jesus over them and pray they would find their true identity in You alone. If they do not yet know You as their Lord, Savior, and King, we pray they come to know You today.

Lord, we lift up to You the women who yearn to have children, who struggle with infertility, or who have yet to experience the gift of motherhood. Comfort them as only You can. Fill them with Your love and peace. Help them to feel whole and complete through Your grace and mercy.

We lift up those who are burdened by the choices their children have made. We pray for these children, asking that You draw them back to You, Lord.

Wrap Your arms around those who have a difficult relationship with their mothers or who no longer have their mom here on earth. God, this day can also be a painful reminder of grief and absence. Bless these individuals with a special touch from You today, reassuring them of Your presence.

Thank You, God, for the women in our lives who serve as Christian mentors and spiritual mothers. Thank You for how they lead us to You, walk alongside us, pray for us, and guide us in faith.

Lord Jesus, we lift all of these prayers to You. We ask Your Holy Spirit to lead us, guide us, and direct us. Thank You for all You do, God.

We pray for Your blessing over these special women in our lives, and help us take time today to recognize and honor them.
